Obituary

Alice Ann Phipps, 84, loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 26, 2011, in Albuquerque, N.M. Born April 25, 1927, in Hale County, Texas, she lived most of her years in Los Lunas, N.M. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church and the Senior Citizens Center in Los Lunas. For those of us who had the pleasure of knowing her, there has never been a more kind and gentle spirit. Alice never met a stranger. She greeted all with open arms and an open heart and will truly be missed by all. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace Phipps and Mabel Kiser Gensen; her brother, James Wallace Phipps; and her niece, Wanell Owens. Survivors include her sister, Lawanda Owens of Los Lunas N.M.; a brother and sister-in-law, Toby and Louise Phipps of Clovis, N.M.; three nieces; three nephews; three great-nieces; five great-nephews; and several great-great-nieces and nephews. Viewing will be at Lemons Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2011. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2011, in Plainview Cemetery in Plainview. A celebration memorial service of Alice's life will be held at 2 p.m. May 7, 2011, at First Baptist Church, 914 Los Lentes Road, Los Lunas, N.M.
