Phillips, Howard, Mrs. (Opal Mae Hudgins)

Graveside services for Opal Mae[l1] Phillips, 87, will be 11 a.m. Monday in Plainview Memorial Park with the Rev. Jim Ritter, pastor of Seth Ward Baptist church, officiating.

Burial is by Lemons Funeral Home.

Mrs. Phillips died at 1:15 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, 2000, at Prairie House Living Center.

She was born Feb. 23, 1913, in Prairie View Community and married Howard Phillips on Jan. 16, 1932, in Clovis, N.M. He died Aug. 1, 1971.

She grew up in Seth Ward and Attended schools there.

After her marriage, she continued to live in Plainview until her death.

She worked at the Plainview Mattress Factory for 11 years.

Mrs. Phillips was a member of the Seth Ward Baptist Church and taught Sunday school there for many years.

Surviving include one brother, Carmel Hudgins of Plainview; and several nieces and nephews, including Shirley Cook.
