Phillips, Houston W., Mrs. (Edith Stair)

Funeral services for Edith Phillips, 84, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church Chapel with Dr. Travis Hart, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home.

Mrs. Phillips died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000, in Covenant Hospital Plainview.

She was born May 5, 1916 in Temple, Okla., and married Houston Phillips June 11, 1941 in Pleasington, Texas.

She was raised in Lawton, Okla., where she attended schools. She lived in LaCoste, Texas and returned to Lawton for several years. She came to Hale County in 1944. She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband; one son, Dr. Ronald H. Phillips of Lubbock; two daughters, Gayle Wesley of Lubbock and Karen Pelphrey of Plainview; one brother, Gene Stair of Caddo, Okla.; one sister, Vera Neal of Las Cruces, N.M.; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
