Obituary
Lennis Ray Peters, 51, of Post passed away at 12:10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, in Plainview. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19, 2007, at Colonial Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Malcom officiating. Interment will follow in Plainview Memorial Park by Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Lennis Peters was born March 13, 1955, in Haskell, Texas, to Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Peters. He graduated from PHS in 1974 and attended Wayland Baptist University. He married Alisa Hastey on Aug. 8, 1986, in Plainview, Texas. He worked as a crane operator for M Hastey Construction Co., enjoyed operating heavy equipment for Morton Irrigation Co., and worked beside his wife at Hometown Pharmacy in Post, Texas. He was a longtime member and songleader at Colonial Baptist Church where he also served as deacon. Lennis loved and supported his wife and family with whom he enjoyed fishing, singing, campfire cooking and church fellowship. He loved his children - Aaron Borden, Craig Peters and Melissa Adlong - and grandchildren - Dalton Peters Shelby Peters and Christopher Adlong. His heart was to always do anything for his family. He is survived by his wife, Alisa Peters of Post; two sons, Craig and Misty Peters of Amarillo and Aaron Borden of Post; one daughter, Melissa Adlong and husband Chris of Arlington, Texas; his parents, Lowell and Eula Peters; two sisters, Vicky Peters and husband Don of Red Oak, Texas, and Valerie Tenery and husband Randy of Carrollton, Texas; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ricky Peters.
