Obituary

Rosary for Pascual "Pete" R. Perez, 57, of New Deal will be at 6 p.m. today at Guajardo Funeral Chapels and at 7 p.m. Monday at Our Lady Queen of the Apostle in New Deal.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady Queen with Cornelio Ramirez officiating.

Burial will be at Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Guajardo Funeral Chapels of Lubbock.

He died Thursday, Dec. 19, 2002.

He was born Dec. 29, 1944, in Kenedy. He married Margarita Aguilar in Slaton. He retired from Texas Instruments after 25 years. He worked part-time at City Janitorial and also was self-employed.

He was a longtime New Deal resident and a volunteer in the New Deal Independent School District. He was a member of Our Lady Queen of the Apostle Catholic Church and served in the men's organization.

Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Alice Ledesma, Mary Dale Perez and Paula Perez, all of New Deal, and Patricia Perez of Shallowater; two sons, Abel of New Deal and Gomesindo IV of Camp Pendleton, Calif.; four brothers, Antonio and Ambrosio, both of Slaton, Gomesindo Jr. of Lubbock and Nabor of New Deal; two sisters, Connie Deanda of Stratford and Guadalupe Madrigal of Houston; and eight grandchildren.
