Obituary

Funeral Mass for Elvira Perez, 85, will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Gerard Kenney, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home. Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. today in the Lemons Memorial Chapel. Mrs. Perez died at 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, 2001, in IHS Heritage Home in Plainview. She was born Dec. 30, 1915, in Del Rio where she grew up. She moved to Sonora in 1945 and to Plainview in 1964. She was a homemaker and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. In November of 1943, she married Lazaro Perez in Sonora. He died Oct. 6, 1990. Survivors include three daughters, Eustalia "Tala" Barron of Amarillo and Cristella Rodriquez and Maria Sanchez, both of Plainview; one son, Antonio Perez of Plainview; seven grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
