Obituary

Funeral services for Juan M. Perez, 68, will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Casa De Oracion Pentecostal Church with his brother, the Rev. Hermilo Perez, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Bartley Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held from 6-8 tonight in the funeral home chapel. Mr. Perez died Friday, Sept. 23, 2005, in Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. He was born Oct. 27, 1936, in Goliad and lived in Plainview most of his life. He worked for Excel beefpackers for 17 years. He was a Sunday school teacher at Casa De Oracion Pentecostal Church and also was involved in Prison Ministry Fellowship. Survivors include his wife, Theresa; two sons, Johnny Joe Perez and Raul Perez, both of Plainview; three daughters, Alicia P. Zapata, Diana Rodriguez and Esther Gomez, all of Plainview; three bothers, Fidel Perez, David Perez and the Rev. Hermilo Perez, all of Plainview; four sisters, Genoveva Molina, Ofelia Quintanilla, Felicita Benavidez and Amelia Madrigal, all of Plainview; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
