Obituary

Graveside services for Lawrence Fletcher "Pete" Peacock, 82, of Abernathy, Texas will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2011 in the Abernathy Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home and Flower Shop of Abernathy.

Mr. Peacock died Monday Morning, August 1, 2011, in Lubbock, Texas.

He was born June 16, 1929 in McGehee, Ark. to Hardy and Mary (Lytle) Peacock.

He married Fannie D. Harrell on October 3, 1946 in Lake Village, Ark. They moved to Abernathy from Center, TX in 1971 and he was a Baptist. He owned and operated Peacock Shamrock in Abernathy for almost 30 years.

He is survived by his wife, Fannie D. Peaccock of Abernathy, Texas; two daughters, Mary Bennett of Bartlett, Tenn. and Peggy Duffey of Lubbock, Texas; five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
