Funeral services for Henry Ray "Chick" Patterson, 78, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Trinity Fellowship Church with the Rev. Ron Brunson, pastor of Plainview New Covenant Church and Cowboy Church, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery by Bartley Funeral Home. Mr. Patterson died Tuesday, July 10, 2007, at Covenant Hospital Plainview. He was born Feb. 9, 1929, in Brownfield to Thomas Carr Patterson and Dora Ella Mahaffey. He married Phyllis Kretchmar on March 15, 1963, in California. He was a master carpenter and a foreman in building construction. Survivors include two sons, Matthew James Lowery of Monterey, Calif., and Alan Wayne Patterson of Plainview; five daughters, Vickie Lynn Miller of Napa, Calif., Carla Kay Sousa and Donna Gayle Patterson, both of Fresno, Calif., Robyn Elaine Doss of Sherman and Jamie Marlane Harkey of Plainview; one brother, Jessie Doyle Patterson of Lubbock; four sisters, Sally Kate Shadden of Abernathy, Mary Evelyn Smeals of Mineral Wells, Carleen Farr of Howe and Barber Sue Bledsoe of New Deal; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. His son, David Ray Patterson, and two brothers, T.C. Patterson and Billy Andrew Patterson, are deceased.
