Obituary

LOCKNEY - Funeral services for Martha Francis Parrish, 92, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First Christian Church in Plainview with the Rev. Mary Lou Dillon, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home. Mrs. Parrish died Sunday, Aug. 18, 2002, in Plainview. She was born May 21, 1910, in Brady, the daughter of the late James and Rhoda Jane McAda. She graduated from Spade High School and moved to Floyd County where she lived for 76 years. She worked as a manager at Southwestern Public Service until retiring in 1973. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for 60 years, the Pollyanna Club of Lockney and First Christian Church. On June 19, 1926, she married Joe Weldon Parrish in Littlefield. He died May 1, 1984. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Wilkie and Carol Parrish of Joliet, Ill.; a daughter, Louise Thompson of Plainview; a brother, Tommy McAda; three sisters, Myrtle Joiner, Minnie Lee Curtain and Ruth Duncan; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. The family suggests memorials to First Christian Church Memorial Fund, 1800 N. I-27, Plainview, TX 79072. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Lockney from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Wednesday.
