Parker, Woodrow M. (Woody)

Services for W.M. "Woody" Parker, 85, of Abernathy will be at 2 p.m. today at Northside Baptist Church with the Rev. Joel Perez officiating.

Burial will be in Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy.

He died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2002.

He was born June 17, 1917, in Honey Grove. He graduated from Whitesboro High School in 1934. He served in the Army as a master sergeant during World War II. He was a longtime Abernathy resident. He was an insurance agent for American National Life Insurance for 20 years and worked as a salesman at Hoppy's Shop, a menswear shop in Abernathy.

He was a longtime member of the Abernathy Lions Club and was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church.

Survivors include a sister, Ruby Nell Pittman of Abernathy.
