Obituary

Services for William Albert Painter, 98, of Edmonson will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 12, 2015, at First Baptist Church in Edmonson with Dr. Travis Hart officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. today, Jan. 11, 2015, at Kornerstone. Mr. Painter died Friday, Jan. 9, 2015. He was born Jan. 17, 1916, in Spanish Fort, Texas, to Izie Mary and William Arthur Painter. He married Mittie Lee Dykes on Feb. 2, 1940, in the home Albert built in Edmonson. He was a farmer and served on the board of directors for Farmers Gin and Farmers Home Administration. He was a member of and helped build Edmonson Baptist Church and served as deacon and usher for 25 years. He is survived by two daughters, Sharon Threadgill of Ft. Worth, and Donna Ware and her husband Larry of Spring Hill, Tennessee; two sons, Alton Painter and his wife Kathy of Edmonson, and Brian Painter of Edmonson; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife and a grandson, Jeremy Painter.
