Services for Mittie Lee Painter, 85, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Neff of Edmonson First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mrs. Painter died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2006, in Plainview. She was born Feb. 2, 1921, in Vernon to T.R. and Mittie Love Dykes. She moved to the Runningwater community in 1929 with her parents and graduated from Runningwater School in 1938. She married Albert Painter on Feb. 2, 1940, in Plainview. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and a member of Edmonson First Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Sharon Threadgill of Fort Worth and Donna Ware and her husband Larry of Springhill, Tenn.; two sons, Alton Painter and his wife Kathy of Plainview and Brian Painter of Edmonson; a brother, T.R. Dykes Jr. of Plainview; two sisters, Dorothy Whitfield of Odessa and Mary Ruth Edmonson of Shallowater; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
