Obituary

Ebonee R. Owens was born Jan. 19, 1987, in Plainview to Sharon Owens. Ebonee walked into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, at the age of 24, at her home in Plainview. Ebonee attended Plain?view schools and was a member of United Baptist Church where she sang in both the Youth and Mass Choirs. She was an avid lover of music, reading and singing. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011, at United Baptist Church in Plainview with Pastor M.L. White I officiating. Ebonee is survived by her parents, Sharon Owens and Stephen Crear of Plainview; and second parents, the Rev. Joe and Millie Whitaker of Plainview; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Antonio Owens of Atlanta, Ga., Bobby and Verenda Whitaker of DeSoto and Eric and Tasha Whitaker of Midland; seven sisters and two brothers-in-law, Shawnday and Joerell Owens of Florida, and Nicole Owens, Moesha Crear, Felisha Whitaker, Roshella Whitaker, LeQuitta and Damone Davis and Shaniqua Whitaker, all of Plainview; six uncles and their wives, John Owens, Floyd Owens and Charles and Sandra Owens, all of Lubbock, Raymond and Gloria Owens and L.C. and Pauline Owens, all of Plainview, and Robert Owens of Lockney; five aunts and their husbands, Johnnie Mae and Earnest Shivers and Millie and Joe Whitaker, all of Plainview, Linda and Phillip Henderson of Lubbock, Clara Willis of Houston and Grace and Ernest Dickson of Pflugerville; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Ebonee was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Floyd and Johnnie Owens of Plainview; a sister, Lisa Owens of Plainview; a nephew, Kalind Davis of Plainview; and a host of uncles.
