Owens, Charles, Mrs (Mozelle)

Graveside services for Mozelle Owens, 76, of Lubbock, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Abernathy Cemetery with Steve Gauntt, minister of Abernathy Church of Christ, officiating.

Burial arrangements are by Abell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Owens died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2003, at her residence.

She was born Feb. 6, 1926, in Hamlin. She lived in Paris, Texas and Abernathy before moving to Lubbock in 1970.

She was retired from Paddle Tramps in Lubbock after many years and was a Methodist.
On Feb. 23, 1945, she married Charles Owens in Garden City, Kan.

Survivors include her husband; a son Jim Owens of Lubbock; a sister, Pauline Jenkins of Abilene; a granddaughter, Cinnamon Nieman of Lubbock; and two great-grandchildren.

A granddaughter, Jiminey Owens, died in 1975.
