Owen, Estell

Services for Estell Owen, 81, of New Deal will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004, at the New Deal First Baptist Church with the Rev. Terry Jones and the Rev. Randy Holman officiating. Burial will follow in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2004, at the funeral home. Ms. Owen died Monday, Nov. 29, 2004, in Lubbock.

She was born July 16, 1923 in Gustine. She lived in Lubbock before moving to New Deal in 1951. She was preceded in death by a son, Lester Gene Owen, Dec. 31, 2003.

She is survived by a son, Gary Owen of New Deal; two daughters, Gladys and Shirley Owen, both of New Deal; three brothers, Garland Miller of Hurst, Virgil Herman Miller of Ft. Worth, and B.A. Miller of Stephenville; two sisters, Myrline Gill of Waco, and Johnnie Manasco of Ft. Worth; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
