Obituary

Ralph Olmsted, 72, of Hale Center passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Feb. 9, 2014. A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4211 W. Second St., Plainview. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A viewing and visitation will be held from 3-5 p.m. today, Feb. 11, 2014, at the funeral home. Ralph was born on Aug. 7, 1941, to Clyde and Violet Olmsted in Detroit. He married Francis Hill on March 24, 1965, in Lubbock. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Ralph enjoyed genealogy work. He is survived by four children, Glenda Waters of Plainview, Diana Babb and husband Robert of Hale Center, Aaron Olmsted and wife Shanna of Olmsted Falls, Ohio, and Andrea Gregg of Hale Center; two brothers, Gardner Wilbur of Michigan and Robert Olmsted of Shallowater, Texas; two sisters, Judith Brooks of Michigan and Ruth Meadows of Michigan; 14 grandchildren with one on the way; and seven great-grandchildren.
