Obituary

Funeral Mass for Michael "Dunk" Olbeda, 34, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Arsenio Redulo officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview. A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Olbeda died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2007, at Covenant Hospital Plainview. He was born March 16, 1972, in Plainview to Adan O. Olbeda and Nancy Ramirez Olbeda. He worked many years with his grandfather at Old Mexico Restaurant and Joe's Wholesale until his grandfather's death two years ago. He then went back to college. Survivors include his mother, Nancy Ramirez Alvarado of Shallowater; his father, Adan O. Olbeda of Plainview; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Adan and Janette Olbeda, Adam and Duby Orta and Joe Casillas, all of Plainview; five sisters and three brothers-in-law, Michelle and Lee Rios, and Amanda Cardenas, all of Shallowater, Laura Olbeda of Albuquerque, N.M., Lisa and Michael Rosas of Euless and Sylvia and Rudy Ramos of Mansfield; grandparents, Julia Olbeda, and Solano and Margie Perez, all of Plainview; and numerous nieces and nephews.
