Obituary

Joe Don Offield, 69, of Plainview, passed away on January 17, 2014 in Plainview. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, January 20, 2014 at Northwest Church of Christ with Mr. Hugh Miller and Mr. Randall May officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

Joe was born on February 9, 1944 to Frank and Gladys Offield in Amherst, Texas. He grew up in Tahoka before moving to Plainview. He graduated from Plainview High School in 1962. He married Judy Faye Gregg on July 2, 1965 in Plainview and moved to Houston for 3 years as a court reporter. They returned to Plainview and he started Hi-Plains Millwright Supply in 1975. He sold Hi-Plains Millwright after many successful years of business. He farmed, ranched, and had a metal fabricating shop named HMSE for the last several years. He was a member of Northwest Church of Christ. He served on the Board of Directors for State National Bank and Happy State Bank.

He is preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his wife Judy Offield of Plainview, TX; two daughters, Tamara Mimms & husband Mike of Hereford, TX, and Tiffany Barnes & husband Doug of Plainview, TX; one son, Tyson Offield & wife Stacy of Plainview, TX; his mother, Gladys Offield of Plainview, TX; one brother, Joy Lee Offield & wife Holly of Lonegrove, OK; five grandchildren, Hagen, Kelton and Campbell Offield of Plainview, TX, and Macie & Matlin Mimms of Hereford, TX.
