PLAINVIEW - Guadalupe Ochoa, 88, died Monday, June 30, 1997. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Casa De Oracion with the Rev. Hermilo Perez, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery by Lemons Funeral Home.

Mr. Ochoa was born and raised in Goliad. He began his life's work as a minister with the Latin American Council of Christian Churches. He pastored at La Hermosa in Robstown and Bethesda at Alice. In 1964, he moved to Plainview and pastored at Templo Demasco until 1977. He continued his work as a minister until retiring in 1982.

He married Santos Palmarez in 1933 at Carnes. She died in 1978.

Survivors include two daughters, Lupe Perez and Mercedes Lara, both of Plainview; two brothers, Benito Ochoa of Alice and Daniel Ochoa of Texas City; two sisters, Lilly Quintero of Victoria and Julia Cantu of Edinburg; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
