Obituary

Funeral services for Velma O'Neill, 76, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. John Lowrie and the Rev. Mike O'Donnell officiating. Burial will be in Abernathy Cemetery by Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy. Mrs. O'Neill died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2007, in Lubbock. She was born Nov. 3, 1931, in Fannin County to George and Nora Overman Fuller. She married J. Charles O'Neill on March 12, 1960, in Lubbock. She lived in Abernathy since March 1960. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she was a member of the TEL Sunday School Class. She was a member of the Abernathy Chamber of Commerce and had served on the Abernathy Industrial Board. Survivors include her husband; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Mary O'Neill and David Gandy of Plainview and Sara and Joe Michael Muse of Lubbock; one brother, G.D. Fuller of Bledsoe; two grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her parents, one brother and two sisters are deceased. The family suggests memorials to First Baptist Church, 411 Seventh Street, Abernathy, TX 79311.
