Obituary
Alma Lee Nowlin, age 95, passed away Oct. 28, 2009, in Plainview. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, at Lemons Memorial Chapel with Max Browning officiating. Interment will follow at Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of Lemons Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday night at the funeral home. Alma Wigley was born on June 4, 1914, in Paris, Texas, to Claude and Jettie Wigley. Her family moved to Plainview in 1941. Alma married Victor Russell Nowlin in August 1967 in Plainview, Texas. She was a cook for Pioneer, NuGriddle and the Hilton. She enjoyed doing handiwork, quilting and working in her garden. She was a member of First Christian Church in Plainview. Alma was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, John W. Stanley and Victor Nowlin; her son, Bill Stanley, and daughter, Dea Pope; her brothers, Robert, Cephus and Wesley Wigley; and her sisters, Cora Brown and Thelma Wigley. She is survived by her son, Bob Stanley of Loganville, Ga.; daughter Daythel "Day" Torian of Seabrook, Texas; daughter-in-law, Roberta Stanley of Canyon, Texas; grandchildren, Britt Stanley and wife Christy of Loganville, Ga., Brad Stanley of Loganville, Ga., Chris Stanley and wife Gwen of Tempe, Ariz., Kevin Stanley and wife Shirley of Heath, Texas, Vivian Torian of Seabrook, Texas, Lydia Madsen and husband John of Houston, Texas, Richard Pope and wife Susan Davis of Lubbock, Texas, Brenda Batchelor and husband Pat of Roswell, Ga.; great-grandchildren, Erin Raines, Anikke Pope, Tucker Pope, Brian Micocci and wife Jessica, Rachel Madsen, Jonathan Madsen, Marissa Madsen, Tyler Dodd, Dillon Stanley, Lawsen Stanley, Brittany Rusman and husband Brant, Kelly Stanley and Courtney Stanley; and great-great-grandchildren, Natalie, Shelby and Blake Raines.
