Norfleet, William Robert,Jr.

Funeral services for William Robert Norfleet Jr., 89, will be at 9 a.m. Friday in Lemons Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Coats, senior adult minister with First Baptist Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home.

Mr. Norfleet died Wednesday, July 26, 2000, in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Amarillo.

He was born July 19, 1911, in Hale County. He grew up in Hale County and attended schools at Valley View. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. After his discharge he moved to east central Oklahoma and ranched for 50 years.

He was a member of Jay Bird Baptist Church in Westville, Okla.

Survivors include brother and sister-in-law, John Rosemary Norfleet of Plainview; two sisters Helen Montgomery of Lagan, Utah and Mary Hope Herrington of Levelland.

Two sisters, Katherine Reed and Gladys Campbell, are deceased.
