Noel, Edward R., Mrs. (Laura Ruth)

Funeral services for Ruth Noel, 79, were at 2 p.m. today in College Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Robertson, pastor, officiating.

Burial was in Parklawn Memorial Park by Bartley-Silva Funeral Home.

Mrs. Noel died Saturday, April 25, 3004, in Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.

She was born Oct. 21, 1923, in Cook County. She grew up in Matador where she graduated from Matador High School. She attended Wayland and played basketball there in the early 1940s.

She was active as a nurse?s aide at South Plains, Health Provider and for Total Home Health Care or many years.

She was a member of College Heights Baptist Church.

On Dec. 29, 1946, she married Ed Noel in Matador.

Survivors include her husband; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jo Ed and Belinda Noel and Johnny and Debbie Noel, all of Petersburg; two brothers, James Simpson and Joseph ?Gid? Simpson, both of Matador; two sisters, Oleta Camp of Lufkin and Letress Moss of Floydada; four grandchildren, Shelly Thrasher of Plainview, Chad noel of Happy, Jody Watson of Amarillo and Landon Noel of Petersburg; and three great-grandchildren.

Her parents and five brothers are deceased.

Pallbearers were Ted Noel, Terry Noel, Randy Noel, Sam Heart, Steve Weaver and Kim Hays.
