Funeral services for Dexter Newsome, 46, of Plainview will be at 2 p.m. today at Bartley Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Robert Malcolm officiating. Arrangements are by Bartley Funeral Home. Mr. Newsome died Monday, Dec. 12, 2011, in Plainview. He was born May 3, 1965, in Slaton to Doyle and Yvonna Newsome. He worked in construction for many years and was a member of Colonial Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Brandie Newsome of Plainview; three brothers, Truman Newsome, Danny Newsome and Chris McCoy; six sisters, Sandra Rodriquez, Sheila Carter, Patsy McCasland, Darla Jungman, Kristy Newsome and Stacey Brown; and one grandson.
