Obituary

Services for Mike Nelson, 48, of Abernathy will be at 2 p.m. today at Abernathy Church of Christ with David Bennett and Odell Farr officiating.

Burial will be in Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy.

He died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2001.

He was born Dec. 3, 1953, in Post and married Christy Reagan on Sept. 5, 1975, in Abernathy. He was a graduate of Abernathy High School and had attended Sul Ross University and South Plains College. He was a lifelong Abernathy resident and was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Vince of Abernathy; two daughters, Laura of Washington, D.C., and Lacy of Abernathy; mother, Doris Nelson Gilley of Littlefield; and a brother, Lane of Littlefield.
