Obituary
Funeral Mass for Ruby Braly Neil, 84, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in St. Alice Catholic Church with the Rev. Jim McCartney, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in the funeral home?s Colonial Chapel. Mrs. Neil died at 5:20 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, 2001, in Amarillo. She was born Jan. 2, 1917, in Quitaque. She grew up in Silverton where she graduated from high school. After her marriage on June 21, 1938, to Patric Neil in Plainview, she lived in Plainview until moving to Pampa and then Tulia where she lived for 26 years. She worked for Southwestern Public Service, was a charter member of Opti-Mrs. Club, served as treasurer of the PTA and led a Cub Scout troop. She was a member of St. Alice Catholic Church, a member of the altar societies in both Tulia and Plainview where she helped with arts and crafts and had served as a volunteer for the food bank and Senior Citizens Center in Tulia. She and her husband were docents for the Swisher County Museum and served on the RSVP board. Her husband died in 1966 and a sister, Della Braly, died in 1983. Survivors include a son, Patric W. Neil Jr., and his wife, Marie, of Dallas; a daughter, Frances and her husband, Jim Hutson, of Amarillo; a sister, Agnes Braly of Plainview; and two granddaughters, Ruth H. Pitzer and her husband, Mike, of New York City and Emily F. Hutson of Austin.
