Obituary

PETERSBURG - Funeral services for Betty Alice Nave, 71, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First United Methodist Church with Dr. Max Browning, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery by Lemons Funeral Home. Mrs. Nave died Monday, Jan. 7, 2002, in Covenant Medical Center Lakeside in Lubbock. She was born Betty Alice Stovall on Jan. 27, 1930, in Plainview, the daughter of the late Roy and Johnnie Francis Stovall. She grew up in Plainview and graduated from Plainview High School in 1947. She graduated from Lippert?s Business College and worked for Pioneer Natural Gas for many years before working at City National Bank. She later worked for FHA as an auditor for 15 years before retiring in 1994. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Pastor?s Sunday School Class. On June 10, 1995, she married Jesse Nave in Plainview. Survivors include her husband; a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Royce Blankenship of Plainview; a son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Melissa Evans of Belton; three stepchildren, Mike Nave and his wife Karen of Phoenix, Ariz., Andy Nave of Wolfforth and Jennifer Ashburn and her husband Eddie of Wolfforth; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel. Memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church or to the Petersburg EMS.
