Morris, Jack, Mrs. (Scottie Swafford)

Funeral services for Mrs. Jack (Scottie) Morris, 75, will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First United Methodist Church with Dr. Max Browning, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home.

Mrs. Morris died at 4 p.m. Saturday, April, 25, 1999, at her home after a lengthy illness.

She was born Scottie Swafford, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Scott Swafford, on Dec. 27, 1923 in Rice, Texas.

She graduated from Rice High School in 1939 at age 15 and attended North Texas State University in Denton.

She married Jack Morris in Dallas on March 4, 1949.

Mrs. Morris moved to Amarillo in 1950, to Muleshoe in 1956 and to Plainview in 1962.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women and Circle II. She had been chairman of both organizations several times, chairman of the Children?s Division of Sunday school classes and was a member of the Wesley Bible Class for 36 years.

She was a member of Chapter CZ of PEO and president for two years. She also had been involved in PTA and Girl Scouts.

Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Lynette Morris of Dallas and Patti Noel of Plainview; a brother, Porter B. Swafford of Peru, Ind.; one grandson, Scott Noel, a student at Rice University, and a granddaughter, Suzanne Noel of Plainview.

The casket will be open at the church from 12:30 until just before the service time.
