Obituary

PETERSBURG - Funeral services for Larry Boren Moore, 55, will be at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lee Crouch, retired Methodist minister, officiating. Burial will be in Petersburg Cemetery by Lemons Funeral Home. Mr. Moore died at 10:15 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2002, at Coastal Palms Nursing Center in Portland, Texas. He was born July 6, 1946, in Lubbock and was raised in Petersburg where he attended school, graduating from Petersburg High School where he was a member of the 1963 state championship football team. In 1970, he graduated from Texas Tech University where he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. He was a radio disc jockey in Texas City for several years. He worked for Occidental Petroleum in Houston and Corpus Christi. He married Donna Wanderer on Jan. 16, 1982, in Houston. Survivors include his wife; and one brother, Charles R. Moore of San Diego, Calif. His parents, Mary Alma and Charles Moore, are deceased. The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society or the Texas Tech Alumni Association, P.O. Box 45001, Lubbock, TX 79409. Visitation for family and friends will be from 6-7 p.m. today at Lemons Funeral Home.
