Moore, John W.

Funeral services for John W. Moore, 92, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Land, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Center Plains Cemetery by Freeman-Abell Funeral Home in Hale Center.

He was born Jan. 12, 1908, in Knox County. A retired farmer and manager of Cotton Center Co-op Gin for many years, he had been a longtime resident of Cotton Center where he was a member of First Baptist Church.

He married Mary Cecilia Sturdivant. She Died Sept. 5, 1989.

Survivors include a son, Robert Moore of Houston; a daughter; Louise Bradshaw of Cotton Center; a sister, Mattie Sue Townsend of Cotton Center; seven grandchildren; and 13 great- grandchildren.

A son, John Olen Moore, died in 1981.

Pallbearers will be Joe McFerrin, Joe Stokes, Lonnie Stokes, Ed Horsford, Kyle Burnett and Tommy Joines.
