Obituary

Funeral services for Angel Montez, 79, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Wood-Dunning Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Roger Munoz officiating. Burial will follow at Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of Wood-Dunning Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Montez died Monday, June 7, 2010, at Plainview Health Care. He was born June 1, 1931, in Fredericksburg to Manuel and Elvira Montez. He married Maria Montez on Sept. 29, 1962, in Plainview. She died Oct. 6, 2008. He worked for the Commission for the Blind for more than 20 years. Survivors include two sons, Daniel Montez of Amarillo and David Monte of Lubbock; one daughter, Naomi Tinoco of Plainview; and four grandchildren. Online condolences can be made at lemonsfunerals.com.
