Obituary

Funeral services for Betty Ruth Monkres, 68, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Bartley Funeral Home with Bruce Cotton, hospice chaplain, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Bartley Funeral Home. Mrs. Monkres died Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011, at Covenant Hospital Lubbock. She was born Aug. 17, 1943 in Hannah, Okla., to Elza Ray Standridge and Jessie May Walters Standridge. She married Eurban Monkres on June 4, 1959, in Tulia. Survivors include two sons, Larry Monkres and his wife, Mirla, and Hurtis Monkres and his wife, Jessica, all of Plainview; two daughters, Lisa Morgan and her husband, Russell, of Dallas and Tonya Allison and her husband, Scott, of Plainview; three sisters, Sue Hammett of Eufaula, Okla., Faye Phelps of McAlester, Okla., and Jean Lawrence of Amarillo; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
