Obituary

Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Margie "Sunny" Mock, 60, of Lubbock at 2:30 p.m. Monday, July 7, 2008 at Monterey Church of Christ with Greg and Speedy Faith officiating. Committal service will follow in the IOOF Cemetery of Abernathy under the direction of Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Margie died Saturday, July 5, 2008 surrounded by family and friends.

Sunny was born Nov. 24, 1947 in Plainview to John Joseph and Elma Dean (Haston) Mock. She attended schools in Muleshoe and Abernathy. After graduation, Sunny attended West Texas State College. Sunny went to work for Furr's Cafeteria Inc. in 1979. She worked in Plainview, Clovis, N.M., and in 1992, moved to Lubbock where she worked at the Furr's Cafeteria on the South Loop as General Manager. Sunny loved people and touched many lives through her 30 years working for Furr's. Mammaw, as she was lovingly called by her grandchildren, loved watching and being involved with all the activities that grandchildren and special family times bring. She was also a member of Monterey Church of Christ.

Those left to cherish Sunny's memories are her two daughters, Tracey LeeAnn Tanner and husband Allen of Lubbock; and Emily Cole and husband Jimmy of Flower Mound; grandchildren, Trey Mock and fianc?e Lydia; Taylynn Tanner; Emmy Cole; Devynn Tanner; Sunny "Slade" Moore; and Lindsey Cole; a sister, JoAnn Williams and husband LeeRoy of Lubbock; a brother, .John Buddy Mock and wife Kim of Lovington, N.M.; and many special friends.

Viewing will be today from noon until 8 p.m., and Monday until noon.
