Obituary

Funeral services for Vollie "Omi" Mixon, 92, of Lubbock will be at 11 a.m. Friday February 18, 2011 at Bartley Memorial Chapel with Rev. Kyle Brock officiating. Burial will be at Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home of Plainview.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

She was born March 31, 1918 in Springtown, Texas to James and Gertrude Hays. She died Wednesday February 16, 2011 in Lubbock.

Survivors include two sons, Johnnie McCarty of Round Rock and Jack McCarty of Lubbock; four brothers, Darvis Foster, Vancel Foster, James Foster, and Bill Foster; one sister, Delores Hurlbert; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Jimmie McCarty; one brother; and two sisters.
