Obituary

Martha Elaine Willcox Minnich, 88, passed away at her home on Dec. 20, 2008. Memorial services will be held on Friday, Dec. 26, 2008 at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church Chapel with the Rev. Travis Bennett officiating. Services are under the direction of Lemons Funeral Home. An inurnment will be held at a later date in Carlsbad, N.M. Elaine was born May 9, 1920, in Casper, Wyo. She married John Thomas Minnich on April 4, 1942, in Long Island, N.Y. Martha was a homemaker. She was a Pink Lady, enjoyed playing bridge and was an avid golfer at Plainview Country Club. She loved to travel and also was on the board of First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Minnich, in November 1973, and her parents, Harlan and Lucille (Hayes) Willcox. Martha is survived by her daughter, Gail Dowling, and husband, Mike, of The Woodlands; two grandchildren, John Dowling and wife, Carissa, of Amarillo, and Deborah Ross and husband, Rob, of The Woodlands; three great-grandchildren, Emily-Claire Ross, Jacob Ross and Charlie Ross; a sister, Sara McAlister of Hemet, Calif.; and her sister-in-law, Mildred Ward of Payson, Utah. The family suggests memorials to First United Methodist Church of Plainview.
