Obituary

Services for Jim Mills, 62, of Abernathy will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church in Abernathy with Steve Campbell officiating.

Burial will be in Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home.

He died Tuesday, May 28, 2002.

He was born Dec. 5, 1939, in Munday. He attended Abernathy schools, graduating from Abernathy High School in 1958. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and the church choir.

He was a retired farmer and co-owned and managed West Texas Pipe Supply Co. for 30 years. He supported the local 4-H, FFA and the youth baseball leagues.

Survivors include his mother, J.C. Mills of Abernathy; two sons, Kelly of Abernathy and Stacy of Carlsbad, N.M.; two sisters, Shirley Coxon of Lubbock and Patsy Baker of Idalou; and six grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be sent to First United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 704 Ave. D, Abernathy, Texas 79311.
