Obituary

Funeral services for Mollie Gertrude Miller, 95, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Lemons Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Joe Weldon, retired Baptist minister, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home. Mrs. Miller died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2005, in St. Ann's Nursing Home in Panhandle. She was born Mollie Gertrude Carr on Dec. 7, 1909, in Lindsey, Okla., and married J.E. Miller on Feb. 1, 1928, in Purcell, Okla. They moved to Plainview in 1931 and she worked for the Plainview school district food service from 1954-74 when she retired. Her husband died May 28, 1961, and she moved to Amarillo in 2001 to make her home with a daughter. She was a member of Parkview Baptist Church and Eastern Star. Survivors include two daughters, Margaret Barr of Amarillo and Wanda Martin of Fort Wayne, Ind.; a brother, John Monroe Carr of Amarillo; two sisters, Ada Masterson of Dell City, Okla., and Martha Pybas of Oklahoma City; seven grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. A daughter, Ada McBeth; a granddaughter, Janis Ford; and a great-grandson, Vance Ford, are deceased. The family suggests memorials to Parkview Baptist Church, 405 S. Broadway, Plainview, TX 79072.
