Obituary

Maylene Mickey, 87, of Plainview passed away Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 26, 2009, at Garland Street Church of Christ with Tony Dominguez officiating. Interment will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. She was born Sept. 16, 1921, in Abernathy, Texas, to Jack and Jeraldine Parish. She married Forrest Mickey in March 1939 in Clovis, N.M. He preceded her in death on Oct. 10, 1999. Mrs. Mickey was a member of the Plainview Art Association and Garland Street Church of Christ. Survivors include one daughter, Kim M. Hall and husband Roger of Las Cruces, N.M.; one son, Jerry Mickey and wife Betty of Rockport, Texas; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to a favorite charity.
