Obituary

Elizabeth Michael, 60, of Plainview died on Wednesday, March 6, 2013. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 9, at Plainview Memorial Park with Chaplain Oscar Chavez of Area Community Hospice officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Elizabeth was born July 23, 1952, to Fred and Louise Walker in Paris, Texas. Her friends knew her as Libby. She earned her B.S. and M.B.A. degrees from Texas Tech. She also was a registered nurse and an ABD Ph.D. candidate at Tech's School of Business. She taught business ethics courses at Texas Tech and Wayland Baptist University. In recent years, she has pursued numerous philanthropic interests. She worked at the hospital in Hale Center, a hospice organization, and later as the director of Christian Manor. She is survived by her husband, Steve Michael of Plainview; three brothers, Charles Walker, Fred Walker and Grady Walker; and her son Doug.
