Funeral services for Doyn Merriman, 82, will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Bartley-Silva Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ron Brunson, pastor of New Covenant Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Bartley-Silva Funeral Home.

Mr. Merriman died at 5:30 a.m. Friday, July 14, 2000, in Covenant Hospital Lubbock.

He was born June 30, 1918 in Donithan, Mo. To Oscar and Mary Minor Merriman. He married Josie Katherine Shelley on Sept. 4, 1937 in Clovis, N.M. He and his son Gary founded Merriman Woodworks in 1970. He also was a Methodist supply pastor in the Plainview area for 12 years.

Surviving are his wife; three sons, Gene Merriman of Dallas; Dale and Monette Merriman of Canyon and Gary Merriman and Valerie Job of Lubbock; a brother and sister-in-law, Eugene and Florence Hall of Kerrville and a sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie and Joe Lambeth of Hobbs, N.M.; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Randy Merriman, Mike McCandless, Lane Turner, Delton Waggoner, Les McCandless and Howard McCaleb.

The family suggests memorials to Meals on Wheels or Cal Farley?s Boys Ranch.
