Obituary

Funeral Mass for Maria De Jesus Mendoza, 45, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Lupe Mayorga of Dimmitt officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery by Lemons Funeral Home. Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel. Ms. Mendoza died Saturday, June 4, 2005, in a Denver, Colo., area hospital. She was born Aug. 16, 1959, in Mexico, the daughter of Alejandro and Rafaela Mendoza. She was a resident of Plainview and member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She had been employed previously by Excel in Plainview. Survivors include her parents; a daughter, Regina Lucio of Plainview; two sons, Alejandro Lucio and Daniel Lucio, both of New Braunfels; her former husband, Raul Lucio of New Braunfels; three brothers, Manuel Mendoza of Plainview, Roberto Mendoza of Denver, Colo., Salvador Mendoza of Vera Cruz, Mexico; six sisters, Luz Maria Casillas, Socorro Casillas, Lucilla Pizarro, Ana Lax, Josefina Mendoza, all of Denver, and Rosario DelAngel of Vera Cruz, Mexico. A son, Raul Lucio Jr., died Dec. 1, 2000, and a grandson, Mateo Lucio, also is deceased.
