Obituary

Maria Felicidad Melendrez, 93, of Plainview, died Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, at her residence. Rosary will be said at 6 p.m. today, Oct. 20, at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Mass of the Ressurection will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21, 2013, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Arrangements are by Lemons Funeral Home. She was born in Mission, Texas, on June 10, 1920, to Vicente and Maria (Allaniz) Cantu. She married Reynaldo M. Melendrez Sr., April 30, 1939, and he preceded her in death in 1996. She is survived by her 13 children: Margarita M. Ramirez, Maria M. Garcia, Rodolfo C. Melendrez, Reynaldo C. Melendrez Jr., Olga Chavez, Ernestina M. Adams, San Juanita "Janie" M. Gonzales, Martha M. Recio, Irma M. Chambliss, Elida M. Chavez, Rojelio C. Melendrez, Louis C. Melendrez and Enrique C. Melendrez. Also surviving are her 50 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren. On behalf of all the family, we thank Interim Hospice for their special care.
