Funeral Mass for Carol Melendez, 16, of Plainview will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with the Rev. Raymundo Manriquez officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home. Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. today at Lemons Funeral Home Chapel. Miss Melendez died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007, at her home. She was born Sept. 7, 1990, in Plainview, Texas, and was a sophomore at Plainview High School. She was a member of the PHS band and Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Survivors include her parents, Francisco and Estela Melendez of Plainview; five brothers, Juan Reyes, Miguel Gallegos, Francisco Melendez Jr. and Gabino Melendez, all of Odessa, and Socorro Melendez of Plainview; three sisters, Veronica Hernandez of Juarez, Mexico, and Marisol Melendez and Ivette Melendez, both of Plainview; paternal grandmother, Maria Melendez of Dimmitt; and maternal grandmother, Anita Torres of Dalton, Ga.
