Meester, Jacob M. (Jake), Mrs. (Verda Ragland)

ABERNATHY ? Graveside services for Verda Alda Ragland Meester, 93, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, in the Hale Center Cemetery with the Rev. Ron Kelley, pastor of First united Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial arrangements are by Abell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Meester died Tuesday, May 6, 2003, in Littlefield.

She was born on Feb. 18, 1910, in the Lakeview area.

Mrs. Meester graduated from Abernathy High School in 1927.

On Dec. 23, 1928, she married Jacob M. Meester in Plainview. He died Nov. 4, 1988.

She and her husband lived in Denton for many years before returning to Abernathy in 1974.

Survivors include several nephews and nieces.
