Obituary

Funeral services for Annie B. Meals, 83, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at New Fellowship Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie Ansley officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Wood Dunning Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Mrs. Meals died Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at Prairie House Living Center. She was born May 3, 1926, in Red River County to Henry and Sally McCarty. She graduated from Detroit High School. She married Charles Meals in June 1944 in Deport. She was a member of Greater New Hope Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband; seven sons, Mitchell Meals, Dewey Meals and Ricky Meals, all of Plainview, Lester Joe Meals of Lawton, Okla., Ronny Meals of Snyder, Donald Meals of San Diego, Calif., and Julius Meals of Del City, Okla.; one daughter, Diann Pitts of Plainview; 24 grandchildren and 72 great-grandchildren. His parents; two sons, Alonzo Meals and Charles Meals Jr.; five brothers, Ross McCarty, Billy McCarty, John McCarty, Smith McCarty and Brackeem McCarty; and four sisters, Rhodie Mae Dennis, Deloma McCarty, Linnie Williams and Cora Boone, are deceased.
