Obituary

John Stephen McVicker, 49, of Lubbock passed away on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2007, at his residence. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2, 2007, at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. Don Robertson officiating. Mr. McVicker was born July 18, 1957, in Plainview, Texas. He grew up in Plainview and graduated from Plainview High School in 1977. He worked for Pioneer Seed for several years before moving to the Dallas area. He then moved to Lubbock in 1983. He was a volunteer at The Haven and was a member of College Heights Baptist Church. Survivors include his mother, Elaine McVicker of Plainview; two sisters, Stephanie Lindsey of Rio Rancho, N.M., and Sheila Westbrook of Lubbock; one brother, Dee McVicker of Plainview; and seven nieces and nephews, Lori Rodriquez, Seth Westbrook, Jordan McVicker, Ryan Westbrook, AnnDee McVicker, Tanner Rodriquez and Tyler Rodriquez. He was preceded in death by his father, George McVicker. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the American Association for Klinefelter Syndrome Information and Support (AAK SIS), 2945 W. Farwell, Chicago, IL 60645-2925.
