Obituary

HALE CENTER - Graveside services for Francis McDowell, 84, of Lubbock, will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Plainview Memorial Park with Rev. Ken Rowland, pastor of First United Methodist Church officiating. Arrangements are by Freeman-Abell Funeral Home. Ms. McDowell died early today, Dec. 21, 2001, in South Haven Residential Care Home in Lubbock. She was born March 23, 1917 in Lorraine. She lived in Hale Center from 1935-1936. She moved from Marlin to Lubbock in February of 2000. She worked for USDA from 1937-1965 and then went to work for the Department of Veteran Affairs until her retirement in 1982. She is a Methodist. She is survived by three brothers, Raymond Heath of Lakewood, Colo., and Gene Heath and Harold Heath, both of Hale Center. A sister, Opal Chisnall and a brother, Robert Heath, are deceased. The family suggests memorials to Hospice or to a favorite charity.
