Obituary

Larry Gene McDonald, 62, of Plainview passed away on Monday, Feb. 14, 2011, in Plainview. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011, at First Baptist Church with Dr. Travis Hart officiating. Private family burial will be held prior to the memorial service under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Larry was born July 31, 1948, in Plainview to Pete and Evalene McDonald. He grew up in Plainview and graduated from Plainview High School in 1967. He attended West Texas State University in Canyon and received his degree in business in 1971. He went to work for the banking industry, starting at City National Bank. He worked for various banks in Plain?view. He was a member of the Kiwanis, helped with organizing the Fourth of July Fireworks show, the Emmaus Community and was a member of First Baptist Church. He married Karla Ann Falk on June 9, 1973, in LaVeta, Colo. He is survived by his wife, Karla Ann McDonald; one daughter, Holley Ann Pinson and her husband, Brandon, of Midland; one son, Kip Bradley McDonald of Dallas; his mother, Evalene McDonald of Plainview; one brother, David McDonald and his wife, Doris, of Plainview and their children, Crystal McDonald of Lubbock and Clay McDonald of Washington, D.C.; and one granddaughter, Suzanna Pinson of Midland. He was preceded in death by his father, Pete McDonald, in 2005. Memorials may be made to Plainview Christian Academy, 310 S. Ennis, Plainview, TX 79072.
