Obituary

Othella Jean McDonald was born Sept. 18, 1927, in Montague County to Albert and Tessie (Shipley) Allison. She married David Dickson McDonald on Aug. 17, 1942, on the side of the road in Bellevue, Texas. She was preceded in death by both her parents; her husband, David Dickson McDonald; one son, Dickey Ray McDonald; her sister, Marjorie Vice; one grandson; and two great-grandsons. She is survived by sons David and wife Clorene of Plainview, Gary McDonald and wife Barbara of Whitehouse, Donny McDonald and wife Lisa of Idalou and Mark McDonald and wife Sharron of Odessa; daughters Betty Edwards of Wilmington, N.C., Deborah Dickey and husband Earl of Plainview and daughter-in-law Judy McDonald of Wichita Falls; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother-in-law, Freddie Vice; sisters-in-law Alva Jo Phillips, MaryDean McDonald and Wyvonne McDonald; and several nieces and nephews. Othella was a very devoted Christian who served her church faithfully. She was a member of College Heights Baptist Church. She loved her family dearly and tried to always make each and every one of them and their spouses feel special. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Lemons Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Don Robertson officiating. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens. Service arrangements are under the direction of Lemons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today, March 15, 2013.
